Gay Head, MA Business Real Estate Vacations History

Gay Head, a town on the island of Martha’s Vineyard, changed its name to Aquinnah in 1998 by popular vote. Since the change was not too long ago, some people still refer to the area as Gay Head. Gay Head, or Aquinnah, is in a peaceful and picturesque location on the less populated side of Martha’s Vineyard, with two popular beaches, Lobsterville and Philbin. The Wampanoag reservation land is well maintained and helps keep the area’s commercial growth in check.
