I went to Horseneck beach today with friends. This was my first time there and will probably be my last. The beach looked great on first glance. However, when we tried to go into the water, we had to negotiate rocks and lots of seaweed that blanketed the shore. It was so dirty and we wouldn’t go in the water. Having been to other state beaches, we were shocked that this beach was not cleared of all the seaweed and rocks that made it difficult to walk, let alone swim.
To make matters worse, the rest rooms were filthy. There is no excuse for this. The board of health would certainly not be pleased or condone the conditions.
The dunes, the buildings and boardwalk were fine. It’s too bad that the beach disappoints.
