Boxborough, Massachusetts is widely known for Fifer’s Day, held every June at Flerra Field. Fifer’s Day is an annual community event that honors the first casualty of the Revolutionary War. Luther Blanchard, the fifer who marched the minutemen to the Battle of Concord, ended up getting severely wounded and dying. This annual event has long been a successful tradition and includes activities, races, sports, food, and a parade.
