Clarksburg is home to the last stretches of the Mohawk Trail. Today, this trail is actually a scenic highway, built on what was once a Native American trading route. The Clarksburg State Forest is home to wild plants and animals, which can be seen near Mausert’s Pond. Mausert’s Pond is located right next to Clarksburg State Forest and has a scenic trail that follows its shore.
